Meet Our Resident Artists
Anneta La Rusa
Founder / Director / Resident Artist
Anneta's training started back in Russia with an extensive history in Gymnastics, Synchronized Swimming and Latin Dance.
She is no stranger to stage and screen performance having participated in numerous theatre productions (MacRobert Arts Centre, Stirling, Contact Theatre, Manchester), Salsa Dance Festivals (Afro Cuban Salsa Fiesta, Manchester Latin Festival, Plymouth Tropical Summer Festival, Salsa Feel The Heat…), Stage Productions (Oi Brasil, London), and filming projects (007 James Bond release "No Time to Die").
Anneta's passion for dance led her to explore various styles and techniques, including Contemporary, Afro, Ballet, and Cuban popular dance. However, it was her deep love for Cuban dance that inspired her to establish Studio Ile Ache in Glasgow City Centre.
Anneta is currently the owner and director of Studio Ile Ache, continuing to promote all things dance, art and culture in Scotland, and her school La Rusa Dance, which focuses on Cuban Salsa and related classes that focus on the feminine form and body movement.

Dorine Mugisha
Resident Artist
Dorine Mugisha is an international performer, instructor and retreat leader. Originally Tanzanian, born and raised in France, living in the UK and having traveled over 25 countries, she is inspired by an array of cultures and speaks 4 languages. She has a degree in Law & Sociology, experience working in the charity sector for over 10 years and recently obtained her IAFPD Primary Certificate in Health and Wellbeing Coaching. Combining her passion for traveling, dance and bringing people together, she created Body Movement.me to share with diverse people the power that movement has in building not only your physical wellbeing, but especially your mental wellbeing. Whether you are attending a retreat, a class, an event, or wanting a bespoke occasion, the aim is to recharge, reconnect and renew you. She is particularly keen on seeing more representation of plus size bodies.

Vanessa Leamy Corsini
Resident Artist
Vanessa trained professionally in ballet in Florence, Italy, from a young age under the tutelage of Cinzia Vannini and Marga Nativo. After flirtations with contemporary dance and flamenco she discovered Argentine tango. She has been studying and developing her dance ever since. She currently resides in Scotland where she dedicates herself to developing the local Argentine tango scene. She is the Artistic Director of the Glasgow Tango Collective.

Nancy Jacinto
Resident Artist
Nancy is a performer and dance artist with a multidisciplinary background. Her dance is rooted in Latin Dances and Bellydance. She has BA in Performing Arts & Drama Literature and a Diploma in Oriental Dance, also often referred as Bellydance (Raks Sharqi)
She has been working as a dancer, performer, choreographer and dance teacher in Mexico and Scotland. She has performed and collaborated with Femmes Uncut, Mhz Scenography (for STRUT) Feral Arts, Surge Scotland, Latin American Connections, Milk Café Community, Jhankar Beats, CWIN and Scottish Refugee Festival.
Her artistic work focuses on representing her cultural background and embodiment of female expression and empowerment through the art of Bellydance, pointing up the sense of belonging as a migrant and the feeling comfortable in her own-coloured skin and body.

Chinyanta Kabaso
Resident Artist
Chinyanta is a dance choreographer, performer, teacher and content creator whose work centres around dance of the African diaspora. She creates both live and digital performances that draw from modern and traditional styles of afro-carribean dance. Her work uses joyful humour to create pieces that are educative and entertaining.
Chinyanta also serves as a board member of The Work Room and an Engagement Producer at the Scottish Ballet. She has created dance work for many organisations including Tramway (Glasgow), The Edinburgh Carnival, The Edinburgh Jazz and Blues Festival and The Black-E (Liverpool) and The Artscape Theatre (Cape Town).
Some of her notable awards include being selected for the National Theatre of Scotland's 'Discover Residency', The Project X Sparks Bursary and the TED Africa Idea Search.
